Truffle Capital, an investor in Phone Systems & Network, is a European private equity firm originally set up for investments in spin-offs from companies active in the IT, Energy, and Life Sciences sectors.
-
Phone Systems & Network is a French VoIP operator with a strong position among ethnic markets. A pioneer in using the Internet as a communications medium, the company commercialized its first product in 1995. In 1997, PSN was acquired by a US based telecom conglomerate which later faltered, paving the way for a turnaround led by Truffle Capital in 2006.
-
Today, PSN offers subscription-based telecom plans for SOHOs and SMEs, telecom services for call boutiques, and special access numbers. The company’s offerings are largely predicated upon new generation voice-over-IP (VOIP) technology.
-
Following a €3.7 million recapitalization of the company in 2006 by Truffle Capital, PSN has consolidated its technological know-how and has expanded its offer to target the ethnic and SME segments.
